Self Thieves

We have heard several cases of theft or robbery in our neighborhood and most of the time the thieves are not caught. I'm not sure if you have heard about self implicated robbery where the suspect is the victim. I know it sounds weird but yet it is true. I read an article about this type of crime. Being in the Philippines, there have been several cases reported. It's considered as a closed case. A lot of government money is lost because of this and who benefits from it...no one. There was one case where a group of employees rented a transient house in Baguio. After staying at the said place for two days, they reported that a company equipment is missing which they left at the transient house. The police began their investigation and the employees, then going back to manila, demanded for a refund for their stay. After days of investigation, they found out that the victims were not employed at the company they mentioned. Meaning, there was no equipment missing. Poor owner of the rental house, they need to give a refund and lost their reputation because of some sick habit of people. The time and effort of looking for the suspect was time not well spent. Government money was lost and used for nothing. We really don't know what goes on the mind of some people. They are just thinking what they can benefit from and doesn't care what's the consequence of their actions are.
